POSTEL participates to several projects that prepare the onset of European environmental monitoring services in the framework of GMES :
GEOLAND/CSP is a FP6 Integrated Project aiming at providing to GMES services in the "Water and Carbon", "Crop production for food safety", and "Land Cover change" areas the biogeophysical products that they need. POSTEL is leader of the GEOLAND Biogeophysical Parameter Core Service (CSP) and distributes to users several CSP products : leaf area index, fraction of absorbed PAR, fraction of vegetation cover, surface reflectances, burnt areas, surface albedo, downwelling shortwave and longwave radiation fluxes, surface temperature, precipitation, soil moisture, evapotranspiration, and water bodies.
VGT4AFRICA / FP6 provides in real time VEGETATION products to the African user community, via the EUMETCAST broadcast communication system of EUMETSAT and the PUMA network of meteorological stations. POSTEL provides VITO with processing lines of fraction of vegetal cover, albedo and leaf area index products.

GLOBCOVER / ESA produces a global land cover map at 300 m resolution using full resolution MERIS data acquired in 2005. POSTEL is Prime Contractor of the project and has full responsability to build and operate the production system.
